None of which means I'm, you know, any good. (I've always drifted toward improv - and have been in more than a couple of all-improv bands. I've (almost) never had to live under the discipline imposed by being in a band with fixed arrangements. I do know tone hounds above and beyond my ability too who would smack me for such lunacy. Kind of as you said, I get a stone's throw away. In my live scenarios, I do get a little interaction from monitors and that is cool but my satisfaction with the XT Live is largely based on portability. The style I play in doesn't leave as much room for that as what you may play but I DO agree. TIFWIWYou are so right about the touch aspect. For me, it's nothing like playing one of my amps. it just gets louder or softer for the most part. The POD (or at least the XT) is like a static filter that just colors everything the same. But nothing really close to what I want - and, after many hours of experimental probing and knob-twisting - no promise that I will ever find a way to trick it into what I want.Īt the bottom of that is a very pronounced lack of responsiveness to playing approach and technique. Stuff that comes within a long throw, maybe. So it's with real disappointment that I have to report that, for me, and the tones I like, the POD offers pretty close to nothing. But the idea of being able to dial up a range of tones quickly, store, and recall. I have a few amps, a Blues Jr, a Lexicon Signature 284 low power rack amp, a couple funky low-end 40 and 50 year old jobs. The idea of such a device is, to me, golden. And when I say exploring, I mean really pushing, prodding and twisting every nob on pretty much every patch. I suspect much depends on the type of tone that is "EVERYTHING" to a given guitarist.Ī few years back, a pal parked his POD XT with me and I've now spent several long evenings exploring every patch.

#Line 6 pod farm 2.5 on focusrite update
I bought the original amp farm plugin when it came out for u$200 (at least the update to pod farm was free.) i now use the pod farm ,mostly for the effects, which i really like. I will be re-recording most of my tracks this week. I will not have any issue with Pride in admitting my usage of POD Farm. I have to say that it was the best $49 I ever spent.
